MARIO VASQUEZ

Graveside services for Mario Vasquez, 67, were held on Thursday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at the Donie Cemetery. Brother Robert McDougal officiated.

There was no visitation. Bowers Funeral Home in Teague was in charge of arrangements.

Vasquez passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at his residence in Tehuacana.

He was born in Freestone County on April 9, 1955, and grew up in Donie. He graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1973. He was a bull rider in his younger years and loved rodeo all his life. Vasquez worked for Bennett Veterinary Hospital in Mexia for many years and worked for the Mexia State School for a period of time. Mario lived in Tehuacana for many years.

He is survived by his mother, Aurora Vasquez of Teague; one brother, Vivian Vasquez Jr. of Donie; one sister, Pilar Harris and husband Dennis of Teague; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Vasquez was preceded in death by his father, Vivian Vasquez Sr.
