MARCUS BLY WOOD

Funeral services for Marcus Wood took place Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Scott Matthews officiated.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation took place Saturday, with the family present, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Mr. Wood passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 at Parkview Hospital in Mexia.

Marcus Bly Wood was born on March 28, 1951 in Teague to parents James (Jimmy) and Lois Wood.

He graduated from Teague High School Class of 1969 where he played football and played the bass clarinet in the THS Marching Band.

He was also a drummer in the Kavemen Band.

He worked at the railroad and then HLP Power Plant. Mr. Wood loved fishing and golf, Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.

He was a member of the Teague Volunteer Fire Dept for many years. Mr. Wood was a member of First Baptist Church in Teague.

He is survived by his four children, Kristin Gonzalez and husband Rudy of Big Spring, Adam Wood and wife Jessica of Donie, Jennifer Marriott and husband Darrell of Aledo, Jessica Daggs and husband Zachary of Teague; fourteen grandchildren, Jonathan Roberts, Hayden Roberts, Rylee Missildine, Taylor Farris, Jaileigh Farris, Macey Wood, Landrie Wood, Braylen Marriott, Kaydence Marriott, Kylynne Terry, Waylon Terry, Blayne Daggs, Logan Daggs, Jaxson Daggs; his sister, Renee Branch of Waco; and two nephews, Matthew Branch and Eric Branch.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Lois Wood.
