Graveside services for Mammie Jo Roberts, 77, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Cotton Gin Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Gillet officiated..

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bowers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Roberts passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia.

She was born on Jan. 4, 1945, in Corsicana to Noel and Lula Sawyers. Mamie grew up in Streetman and Teague and graduated from Teague High School with the Class of 1963. She married Kenneth Roberts on Dec. 24, 1964, and shared more than 51 years of marriage together before being separated by his death on May 6, 2016. Mrs. Roberts began a career as a tax preparer for H&R Block in Fairfield in 1999 and was currently still working when she became ill. She loved fishing, gardening, cooking, and teaching and supervising her family in everything. Mrs. Roberts was a Church of Christ Believer.

She is survived by one daughter, Kelli Roberts Lee of Teague; six grandchildren, 1st Sgt. Mattheu Lee and wife Allison of Fort Polk, LA, Morgan Salas and husband Luca of Teague, Jonathan Roberts and fiancé Chantera Lazard of Houston, Hayden Roberts of Odessa, Daren Humphries of Teague, and Ashley Kelly and husband Billy of Waco; six great-grandchildren, Grace Lee Ring and husband Alex, Matilyn Lee, Parker Lee, Cliff Salas, Paityn Salas, and April Kelly; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Roberts; son, Mike Roberts; infant son, Kenneth Darren Roberts; two brothers; and two sisters.
