Louise Collins

Funeral services for Louise Collins were held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Rev. Perry Kilgore officiated. Interment followed the services at Antioch Cemetery in the Luna Community.

Visitation washeld on Monday, April 15, 2024, with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Louise passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in Waco.

She was born in Dew, to Aldress and Linda (Glanton) Kilgore on May 11, 1932. She lived the majority of her life in Teague and enjoyed working in her yard, watching the hummingbirds, and reading.

Louise loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

To many who loved her, she was known as Granny.

She is survived by her children, Mike Collins and wife Kathy, and Kristie Carrasquillo; three grandchildren, Reed Collins, Zack Collins and wife Stacey, and Karina Carrasquillo; two brothers, Paul Kilgore and Perry Kilgore and wife Donna; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends including special friend and former son-in-law, Raul Carrasquillo.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, D. W. Collins; her parents, Aldress and Linda Kilgore, and one brother, Charles Kilgore.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 240, Teague, TX 75860.
