Graveside services for Lois Alma Harper Gauntt were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Bro. Scott Matthews officiated. There was no visitation. Ms. Gauntt passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Teague Nursing Home. She was born in Teague on Jan. 17, 1928, grew up in Teague, and graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1945. Ms. Gauntt worked as a secretary for the City of Teague for several years. Lois loved bright and flashy colors and enjoyed shopping online. She loved being with her family especially during the holidays and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Teague. She is survived by one son, Bill Gauntt and wife Patti of Teague; one daughter, Paula Gauntt Hyden and friend Ray Boucher of Bryan; three grandchildren, Kevin Gauntt and wife Sabrina of Teague, Shelly Hyden Wells of Teague, and Steven Hyden and wife Megan of Austin; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb Gauntt, Braden Gauntt, Dylan Gauntt, Bree Wells, Blake Wells, Scott Hyden, and Alexander Hyden; one niece, Glenda Jones Amos; one nephew, Ron Sembera; numerous great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends of the family. Ms. Gauntt was preceded in death by one grandson, Scottie Hyden, three sisters, Johnnie Lou Jones, Pauline Sembera, and Billie Joe Guyton; and her parents, Johnson and Alma Harper.
