Lee A. Eppes

Lee A. Eppes, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Visitation with the family to celebrate Lee’s life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 1:00p.m. until 3:00p..m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park, Huntsville, Tx 77340. Mr. Eppes was born in Donie, TX to Fred and Arrie Lee (Sartor) Eppes on July 31, 1938. He graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1956 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1962. Mr. Eppes worked for Columbia Gas for over thirty years before retiring and moving to Fairfield in 1995. He moved to Huntsville in 1997 where he remained. He enjoyed collecting antiques and other collectibles, studying history, and making items from wood. He is survived by one sister, Frances Bell Wolfe of Houston; one brother, Fred Roe Eppes of Teague; nieces and nephews, Dan Wolfe, Jr. & wife Patty, Paul Wolfe & wife Kelly, Fred Roe Eppes, Jr. & wife Gail, Susan Eppes Worley & husband Kevin, Jane Wolfe Histed & husband Rich, and Libby Eppes; greatnieces and great-nephews, Colin Histed & wife Ashtyn, Travis Histed & wife Anna, Graham Histed, Justin Worley & wife Kayla, Kaitlyn Worley, Aubrey Worley, and Duncan Worley. Mr. Eppes was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Eppes and his brother-in-law, Dan Wolfe.
