Graveside services for Julian E. Walthall were Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin. Bro. Roy Prather will officiate.

Julian Edward Walthall was born on April 3, 1922 in Kirvin, Texas to parents John Oliver (Jack) & Pearl Cherry Walthall. He grew up in Kirvin and graduated from Kirvin High School, where he played basketball and pole vaulted. Walthall joined the U.S. Navy and served our country during World War II. He married his wife Loelle, on March 31, 1958. Julian worked at a refinery in Houston until his retirement in the early 1970s, and he relocated back to Freestone County. Walthall enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He was a long-time Mason and long-time member of the V.F.W. Julian was the last surviving of his five siblings.

Walthall is survived by two grandsons, Jeffery Carpenter, and Kyle Adams & his wife Kasey; three great-grandchildren, Arah Adams, Delaney Adams and Thayer Adams; five nieces and nephews, Tim Walthall, Terry Walthall, Myra Walthall Inderman, Neal Shumate and Connie Shumate Fiebig; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loelle Walthall; his daughter, Toni Baker; his parents, Jack & Pearl Walthall; three brothers, Billie Walthall, Earl Walthall and Robert Paul Walthall; and one sister, Inda Shumate.
