JERRY LYNN HUGHES

Jerry Lynn Hughes, 63, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, in Fairfield.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Cody Craig officiating. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chance Cornish, Byron Ward, Joe Linney, Jacob Linney, Chris Henderson and Mike Faulkner.

Honorary pallbearers were Todd Sullivan and Bryson Ward.

Mr. Hughes was born Jan. 10, 1958, in Fort Worth to parents Albert and Opal Blanche Free Hughes. He was a retired Parks Director for the City of Fairfield. Mr. Hughes moved to Fairfield in 2004 from Burleson. He married his wife Stacey in June of 1990. He was a past member of the Freestone County Fair & Rodeo Board. Jerry loved to hunt and fish, loved to rodeo and was a bull rider but his first love was working cattle.

In addition to his parents, Albert and Opal Hughes he was preceded in death by cousin Barney Crouch.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Stacey; four children, Chyanne Hughes and husband Chance Cornish of Fairfield, Brianna Mudge of Fairfield, Tiffnie Hughes and husband Byron Ward of Fairfield, and James Hughes; three grandchildren, Bryson, Casslynn and Brynlee; one sister; his father-in-law, Bill Johnson of Burleson; a nephew, Chris Hughes of Springtown, and cousins, Todd and Deanne Sullivan, numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
