Jerrel L. Little

Funeral services for Jerrel L. Little, 91, will be held on Thursday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Steve Cowart and Bro. Roy Prather will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, with the family present, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Mr. Little went to be with his Lord and Savior May 5, 2019.

Jerrel was born in Teague on February 21, 1928 to his parents, Bunyan William and Ruby Radford Little. He attended school in Teague and graduated from Kirvin where he met his wife Floys Dean Coleman. Mr. Little served in the U. S. Army spending 39 months in Post WWII Germany. Jerrel returned to Teague and married Floys on April 23, 1952. He worked for City of Teague Electric Power Plant for 19 years, and then worked for Bi-Stone Fuel/TXU until his retirement in 1987. He was also a cattle rancher most of his life. He was known for his large garden with his peas, corn, and “large home-grown tomatoes.” He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends. Mr. Little was a lifetime member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague where he was baptized at age 12.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Floys (Flossie) Little; one daughter, Dana Minefee Little; one son, David Lynn Little and wife Vickey, all of Teague; four grandchildren, Kristin Little Skinner and husband Clint, Jeremy David Little and wife Adrian, Ashley Jo Minefee, and Cliff Minefee; seven great-grandchildren, Tori Skinner, Brice Skinner, Kamron Barker, Hudson Little, Sutton Little, Brynn Little, and Kaden Minefee; one brother-in-law, Joe Coleman and wife Mary; one sister-inlaw, Juliet Coleman; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Little was preceded in death by his infant daughter; his parents, Bunyan and Ruby Little; five brother-in-laws, John A. Coleman and wife Neva, Randall Coleman and wife Jane, Edwin Coleman and wife Anita; Jim W. Coleman, and Furney Coleman; and one sister-in-law, Frances Christian and her husband O. D.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, 201 S. 8th Ave., Teague, Texas 75860.
