JANET RUTH PARTIN FISHER

Mrs. Fisher passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from complications of dementia.

Janet was born on May 9, 1942, in Teague to parents Johnathan Lavelle and Ruth Arnelle Biggs Partin. She attended school in Teague until the family moved to Houston in 1956. She married Steven Ansil Fisher in 1962 and lived in Houston until 2005 when they moved back to Teague to live on her maternal grandparent’s farm, the late Howard and Edna Gibson Biggs.

Janet loved flowers and could grow anything. She loved the outdoors and planting flowerbeds everywhere, much to her husband’s dismay. She was a creative artist, painter, exceptional photographer, seamstress, woodworker, builder and had a great eye for interior design. Janet was an excellent cook and made the best pies. She loved all animals, but particularly loved her cats. At one time they had 11 cats! Others teased that the cats were better taken care of than most people’s children.

Mrs. Fisher was tenacious and a hard worker who never gave up on anything she set out to do and she could do anything she set her mind to. She was generous with her time and resources, and she helped everyone she could, even if they did not want her to!

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Steven Fisher; two children, Sherri Fisher Vavricka and Derek Glenn Fisher; two grandchildren, Jordan Smith and Amber Poyer; one great-grandson, Grayson Smith; and too many other relatives and friends to mention.

Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, Johnathan & Ruth Partin; and her sister, Carlenne Ann Partin Miller.
