Janet Bowers Bartenstein

Janet Bowers Bartenstein, 77, passed away Dec. 9 2018 in Colorado.

Janet was born to the late Madie and Charles Bowers of Teague.

She grew up in Teague and graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1959. Janet worked for TSTC in Waco from 1979 to her retirement in 1994.  

She married Jack A. Bartenstein in 1983 until his untimely death in 1987.

She enjoyed playing pool with Jack and fishing, although there were never any stories of how the big one got away. After Jack’s passing, she got into playing pool and like her late father Charles Bowers; she too was a fine pool player even competing in Las Vegas several times.

She enjoyed playing bingo and she really loved watching Steve Harvey on the Family Feud.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Gregory and one son, David Bowers both of Lake George, Colo.; one grandson, Nathan Gregory III, whom she never met; one brother, Bill David Bowers and wife Joy; one nephew, Brian D. Bowers and wife Julie; one niece, Christina Bowers Mims and husband Ritchie all of Teague;  one great-niece; four great-nephews; and numerous cousins.
