JANELLE HENSON

Graveside services for Janelle Henson were held on Monday, June 12, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Bro. Roy Prather officiated.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mrs. Henson passed away on June 4 at the Skilled Care of Mexia Nursing Home. She was 88 years old.

She was born in Limestone County in the Horn Hill community on January 9, 1932. She attended elementary school at Forest Glade and graduated from Mexia High School with the class of 1949. Janelle married Ross Henson on Sept. 29, 1950 and shared over fifty-four years of marriage together before being separated by his death on Dec. 28, 2004. Mrs. Henson worked as a teacher’s aide and later as a secretary for Teague ISD from 1969 to 1987 when she retired. She enjoyed playing dominoes and loved to travel, including international trips to London and Paris. Mrs. Henson also enjoyed numerous camping and fishing trips with her family. She was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague for sixty-seven years.

She is survived by two sons, David Henson & wife Deborah of Rowlett, and Kelly Henson & wife Caye of Teague; four grandchildren, Leah Johnson & husband Justin of Carrollton, Jessica Castillo & husband Aaron of Austin, Jessica Risken & husband Hunter of Donie, and Drew Henson of Teague; seven great-grandchildren, Korree Risken, Jayden Yorgensen, Collin Johnson, Nehemiah Castillo, Creed Risken, Lennox Risken, and Mirabell Castillo; one brother, J. W. Cline & wife Dana of Jasper Georgia; three brothers-in-law, Robert Henson & wife Lucy, Charles Henson & wife Cathy, and Gary Henson; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Cline, and Linda Fick & husband Don; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Henson; one son, Richard Earnest (Dick) Henson; her mother, Georgia Mae Cline; her father, Earnest Eli Cline; and one brother, Glendon Cline.
