Graveside services for James Henry (Jim) Holden took place at 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin. There was no visitation. Jim passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Providence Hospital in Waco at the age of 87. Jim was born Dec. 5, 1930 in Mascott, Tenn. He married his wife, Wanda, March 27, 1988. He worked in underground mines in Tennessee and Georgia as a kid. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jim drove a truck and worked in open pit mines. He moved to Texas where he’s lived for the past 50 years. He’s worked for rock crushers around the area and for East Texas Stone and for Redland Worth. After he retired, he worked for his stepson, Randy Turner, for about 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Holden of Teague; two sons, Glenn Holden and wife Donnie, Wayne Holden and wife Jean; one daughter, Tracey Adkins; stepson, Randy Turner and wife Kay; one sister, Marlene McClure and husband Gene; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
