James David Dunn

James David Dunn, 63, of Houston, passed away Aug. 12, 2024. Born on April 8, 1961, in Houston, David grew up in Teague. He attended Sallie Mounger for his primary education, Teague Middle School, followed by Teague High School where he developed a passion for football and pole vaulting. He loved his friends and graduated with the Class of 1979. His academic journey continued at Texas Christian University, furthering his education and preparing for a future in business.

David worked as a sales manager with teams at Mack Trucks and Enterprise Leasing.

A man of varied interests, David was an avid hunter and fisherman, often found exploring the great outdoors. e was also a devoted fan of college football, cherishing the fall season’s spirted games.

David accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at Second Baptist Church, Houston. As long as his health permitted, he faithfully attended services.

David is survived by his sister, Vicki McSpadden of Cypress; nephew Lt. Colonel Patrick J. McSpadden USAF, Plymouth, Mass.; and niece, Mary Jo Johnson; great-nephews, Mac Johnson and Hudson Johnson all of Cypress. He is also survived by his aunt, Joyce Seale of Deming, N.M., and Dottie Seale of Fulshear; uncle, Mike Seale and his wife Cindy of Sugar Land.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen David Seale; paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. James Ira Dunn Sr.; parents, Dr. and Mrs. James Ira Dunn; brother-in-law, Dr. Patrick B. McSpadden; uncles, the Rev. Edwin Allen Seale and Robert David Seale.

At David’s request there will be no formal church service. He desired a private ceremony with his sister, and her family in attendance. David will be laid to rest by his father and mother in Greenwood Cemetery in Teague.
