Harvey C. Lane, Sr.

Funeral services for Harvey C. Lane, Sr., 84, took place Wednesday, July 25, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Jeff Wright officiated. Interment followed the services at Dew Cemetery. Visitation took place Tuesday with the family present at the funeral home. Mr. Lane passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Providence Hospital in Waco. Harvey was born August 23, 1933 in Dew. He served in the United States Army. After the army he worked as a pipeline welder most all of his life. Harvey took care of his family and was a great father to his children. He was a hard worker, loved gardening, and hunting. He is survived by four sons, Harvey C. Lane, Jr. and wife Latresa of Mexia, William (Bill) Lane and wife Shirley of Prairie Hill, Freddie Lane and wife Melinda of Dew, and Mike Lane and wife Tracye of Cross Roads; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one nephew, Joey Lane and wife Beverly of Wills Point; one “sister”, El- Bessie (Dear) Henderson; one “brother”, Roger Pap Tatum; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tami Reed McKamie and husband Bryant; other relatives and friends, including the Vernon Levels Family; and special friend Jerry Watkins of Corsicana. His wife, Noreeta Lane; sister and brother- in- law, Wanda and PeeWee Reed; and “brother” Lonnie Tatum preceded Mr. Lane in death. Please visit website bowersfuneralhome.net to sign the memorial guestbook or to leave a message for the family.
