Guinndolyn Sharpe, 62, of Teague (formerly of Houston) was called home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest in Waco.
At an early age she was diagnosed as having chronic severe asthma. She struggled with this disease her entire life. At the peak of her illness her lungs would not expel the carbon, which resulted in respiratory failure.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1959, in Houston to Ted Guinn and Barbara Jean (Abernathy) Harris. She was an only child. Guinn was an honor graduate at the age of 16 from Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart in Houston. She excelled at French and music, earning double-bachelors degrees from Houston Baptist University. After graduation, she won a scholarship to study the harp in France. She was an accomplished harpist that had the opportunity to play for movie stars, the Queen of England and even a president. Guinn went on to earn a Master’s degree in Biomedicine at the University of Texas-Galveston. After graduation she worked at American Productivity and Quality Center in Houston. Her new career focused on technical writing and course development in the arena of safety, productivity and quality. She enjoyed her employment with Brown & Root, Halliburton, and College of the Mainland.
Her greatest pride and joy were her three sons, Christopher Guinn Sharpe, Perry Reeves Sharpe, and Samuel Adam Sharpe. Guinn was a member of the Alexander Love Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Westbury Church of Christ Houston, and the Teague Church of Christ. Guinn loved to travel but her fondest memories as a child were made in Red River, N.M. She appreciated it and her faith was strengthened by her time spent in the great outdoors. She loved horseback riding, both English and western, walks along the beach and the Houston Ballet. She loved the art of baking and cooking. If you were looking for a friend, she was one that you could count on. As a military spouse she rallied to support her husband. She joyfully home-schooled Chris, Perry and Sam.
Guinn is survived by her husband, Robert Perry Sharpe of Teague; son, Christopher and wife Ashley Jenee of Sugar Land and their three children Luke Perry, James Theodore, and Evangeline Jenee; son, Perry Reeves of Irvine, Calif.; son, Samuel Adam of Seattle, Wash.; as well as a cousin, Steve Senter of Teague.
She lived by the motto, “The show must go on.”
