GARY G. ALLISON

Gary G. Allison, COL, USAF (retired), passed on May 30. A native Texan, he served his country for 33 years in the United States Air Force, both domestically and throughout the Asia-Pacific. In this service, he was notably awarded the Legion of Merit twice, four Meritorious Service Medals, and the Bronze Star, but what mattered most to him were the friends he made along the way.

Gary was a tall, affable man with a quick Texan wit and a commanding leader endeared by his troops. Generous, boisterous, and larger than life, he touched the lives of all around him. He loved to hunt, fish, and tell a great story. But most of all, Gary loved his country.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond, sister Mildred, and nephew Ralph. Gary is survived by his wife Somchit (Toy), his children, Gary Jr. and wife Cindy, Laylia (Bea) and husband Dennis, Lea Ann and husband Dagan; his grandchildren, Katie, Cassie, Jonathan, J.J., Kyler, Travis, and Mazen; his nephew John, and many dear friends around the world.

A visitation was held on June 12 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. His life was celebrated with a private ceremony followed by interment with full honors at the DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to AF Security Forces Association at afsfaonline.com.
