Edwin Ronald White

Graveside services for Edwin Ronald White were held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Dew cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mr. White passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at his residence in Longview.

He was born in Dew at Grandpaw White’s log house to Henry Edwin and Ruby Faye White. He grew up in Dew and worked with his sisters and brothers to help take care of his family.

Life wasn’t always easy back then. He worked alongside his mother to get the job done.

He married Joy Tinsley of Keechi in 1960. They shared more than 62 years together.

They made their home in Longview where he worked for Le-Tourneau steel mill for 38 years before retirement.

Mr. White always enjoyed making a trip back to Dew to see his family and reminiscing with friends about the jokes they did on others.

He is survived by wife Joy White of Longview; three sisters, Sybil Lancaster of Lexington, Bonnie McCeig of Fairfield, and Sharon St. Clair of Dew; two sistersin- law Gloria White of Fairfield and Betty White of Mexia; one brother-in-law, Billy Davis of Buffalo; numerous nieces and nephews; Joy’s nephew Mike Jones and wife Rita; and a host of cousins and friends including special friends Erick and Katelyn Scott of Longview.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles White, Arthur”Butch” White, and Lynn White; and two sisters, Bobbie Davis and Diane Neal.
