evills Funeral services for Dorothy Dean Beasley Nevills were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery at Luna. Visitation was held prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Dorothy Dean Beasley Nevills was born on Sept. 18, 1928, in Luna. She passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 94.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Acie T. Nevills; parents, Carl and Mary Beasley; two brothers, Kenneth Beasley and Randall Beasley; niece, Jan Beasly; brother-in-law, Elmer Luther; and sister-inlaw, Dorothy Nevills.

Dean and Acie were married in 1952. They lived the first part of their married life in a garage apartment in Teague.

In 1962, they built their home in Lanely. Both of them loved spending time traveling in their travel trailer, spending many vacations trips to Colorado with a number of friends, and also to Buchanan Dam in the hill country of Texas.

When Acie passed away unexpectedly in 1986, Dean and three of her good friends; Louise Collins, Louise Curry, and Maxine Fogleman; started traveling together.

They went on bus tour trips, an Alaskan cruise, and many weekends in Elko, Nevada. They took a European tour, visiting Germany, Italy, Switzerland and other countries.

Dean is survived by her sister, Pat Chappell of Fairfield; sisters-in-law, Sue Beasley and Jeane Beasley; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great nephew; also special friend/ almost daughter, Vicki Van Meter and husband Hart of Tumwater, Wash.; and special friends/neighbors, Billy and Norma DeFrance.
