Donald R. Schroeder

A Rosary service took place at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours. Mass of Christian Burial proceeded. Father Walter Dhanwar officiated. Interment followed at St. Martin’s Cemetery. Visitation took place at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Donald R. Schroeder, 77, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at his residence in Teague. Donald was born on Jan. 18, 1941 in Waco to Benjamine and Wilhelmina Schroeder. He married Betty Taylor on June 9, 1973 and shared 44 years of marriage together before her passing. Schroeder served in the United States Army. He was a long time resident of Teague, an avid sports fan, specifically Texas Rangers baseball. He loved classic cars and Czech and German music. He is survived by his three daughters, Mary Schroeder and fiancé Kevin Garner of Teague, Megan Gustafson and husband Eric of Teague, and Melissa Schroeder of Teague; four grandchildren, Kenley Wellman, Kailey Wellman, Brylin Gustafson, and Raylin Gustafson; five siblings, John Schroeder and wife Diana of Leroy, Dolores Sherwood and husband Ed of Boerne, Larry Schroeder of Ava Maria, Fla., Jeanette Griffin and husband Glenn of China Spring, and Cathy Patterson of West; sister-in-law, Linda Schroeder of Ross; numerous nieces and nephews along with a large extended family. Schroeder was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamine and Wilhelmina Schroeder; wife, Betty Taylor Schroeder; one brother, Kenneth Schroeder.
