Funeral services for Dale Hammans will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. John Taylor will preside.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, with the family present at the funeral home.
Mr. Hammans passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2022, at his residence in Teague.
He was born in Odessa on July 29,1955, but moved to Athens as a child and graduated from Athens High School with the class of 1973. Dale started employment at Hammans Electrical and Plumbing Supply Company owned by his father, where he acquired his master electrician certification. In his career he worked at various power corporations across Texas. For the last 21 years, he was employed with Calpine Corp. starting with Freestone Energy Center in Fairfield as an Ice Tech III. Most recently, he served at the Calpine Corpus Power Station as the Health Environmental and Safety Specialist.
He married Sonya on Jan. 2, 1991, and they shared more than 31 years of marriage together. Dale enjoyed singing and playing guitar and traveling. He was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his wife. Sonya Hammans of Teague; one daughter, Aimee Stone and husband Jay of Midlothian; three sons, Kenneth Dale Hammans III and wife Paige of Palestine, Trae Adams of Teague, and Kooper Hammans and Ashley Lopez of Temple; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Vicki Scott and Kelly Hammans; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Hammans was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Edgar; his father, Kenneth Dale Hammans Sr.; his mother, Janie Arnold; and one brother; Billy Arnold.
