Clela Sue Beasley

Funeral services for Clela Sue Beasley were held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at noon at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery of Luna near Freestone.

Mrs. Beasley passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Cherokee Rose Nursing & Rehab Center in Glen Rose.

She was born in Freestone County in Mt. Zion community on July 1, 1934, to Odell Kennard and Reatha (Black) Ray. She attended Fairfield schools and graduated from Fairfield High School and married Kenneth A. Beasley on May 23, 1952, and shared over 59 years of marriage together before being separated by his death on Aug. 17, 2011.

Mrs. Beasley briefly worked outside the home at various local businesses in Teague including Bendy’s, but she was mostly a dedicated mother and homemaker for her family. She was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by one B easley son, Kenneth Ray Beasley of Walnut Springs; three grandchildren, Ethan Beasley, Jessica Wimberly, Halee Montellano; four great-grandchildren, Kami Carr-Mora, Gracie Beasley, Avery Beasley and Joe Wimberly III; one brother, Lee Roy Ray of Mansfield; five nephews, Danny Ray, Mike Ray, Joe Chappell, Terry Beasley, and John Beasley; three nieces, Cynthia Isel, Fay Clemmons, and Deana McAdams; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Beasley; one daughter, Jan Ledford; her parents, Odell & Reatha Ray; and an infant sister.
