Chris Colby

Memorial services for Chris Colby, 40, took place Thursday, April 25, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Rev. Melissa Purdan officiated.

He passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco.

Chris was born in Humble, August 9, 1978. When he was 10, his family moved to Teague where he made many wonderful friends.

After high school in 1997, Chris joined the United States Navy.

Chris proudly served on board the USS TUCSON SSN 770, a Los Angeles Class Nuclear Powered Submarine and deployed to the Persian Gulf and South America in the defense and security of our country.

Chris reconnected with Teresa in 2002 and they married in 2006 in Moundsville, West Virginia where they lived for over 11 years and had two sons together; and Chris obtained his Master’s Degree in Sports Management from WVU.

Chris enjoyed golf, video games, and spending time with his family.

He loved teaching his sisters and sons how to play some of his favorite games. Chris was a hug fan of all Houston sports teams, especially The Rockets, The Texans, and The Astros. Chris will always be remembered by his friends and family for his amazing personality, his sense of humor, and his unmatched story telling.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Colby and their two sons, Jacob Colby and Luke Colby all of Moundsville, West Virginia; his parents, Dot and Billie Mushinski of Teague, and Wayne and Brinda Colby of Conroe; three sisters, Niki Wolf and husband Drew, Katy Ryan and husband Blake, and Kelly Mushinski and fiancé Alex Pacheco, all of Teague; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and grandfather Paul Mushinski and wife Clara of Marlin.
