Billy Ray Henderson

Billy Ray Henderson passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at his residence in Teague. Henderson’s request was to be cremated and there was no public memorial service. He was born in Galveston County on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1947, to Clint L. Jr., and Doris Henderson. He grew up in La Marque and married Carol on June 10, 1967, and shared almost fifty-one years of marriage together. Henderson worked as an operator for B.P. – AMACO for many years before moving to Teague in 2004. He worked for Bowers Funeral Home, mainly as a driver, for several years. Billy was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a Past Worthy Patron of Texas City # 626 O.E.S. and Friendswood #1131 O.E.S. and a Past Master of Boggy Lodge #739 in Teague. He enjoyed his retirement in Teague and loved his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Carol Henderson of Teague; two sons, Troy Henderson and wife Kristyl of Santa Fe, and Shug Henderson of Texas City; two grandsons, Anthony Ray Henderson and Korbin Jax Henderson; one granddaughter, Angela Delvoux; one great-granddaughter, Elena Faith O’Neal; his mother, Doris McAdams Henderson of Pasadena; one sister Sonja Stephens of Pasadena; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
