Billy G. Wren

Graveside services for Billy G. Wren, 85, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Union Cemetery in Freestone. Brother Dale Hergett officiated.

Mr. Wren passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield.

Billy G. Wren was born July 13, 1935, in Freestone to parents Riva Eva Dee Rogers and Elvis Jasper Wren. Billy, known as Pop to his family, enjoyed travelling with his wife. They were inseparable; you never saw one without seeing the other. He also loved spending time working in his garden, where he was known for a big crop of onions and tomatoes. Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and stepfather.

Mr. Wren is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Wren; his two sons, David Wren and Joe Wren; his daughter, Michelle;his brother, Elvis Wren Jr. and wife Ann; four stepchildren, Sandra Lee and husband Tony, Susan Trahan, Shelly Doyle and husband Mike, Steven Merz and wife Cassie; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Lera Wren; one son, Doug; and his parents, Elvis Jasper Wren Sr. and Riva Eva Dee Rogers Wren.
