Billy Boyd (Bill) Madding, 66, of Fairfield passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2022 in Waco. Bill was born Jan. 30, 1956, in Plainview, to parents Billy Ray and Frances Louise Barnett Madding.

Bill Madding took pride in his lifetime of public service in law enforcement; from working as undercover narcotics, hostage negotiator, SWAT team member, criminal investigator, environmental enforcement and Freestone County Chief Deputy Constable, Precinct 1.

Bill’s true passion was his kids and grandkids, and performing magic for children in hospitals and schools. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bill was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Society of American Magicians, Texas Association of Magicians, a Master Mason and Hella Shrine Clown.

Bill Madding is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Madding; sons, Melvin Madding and wife Destiny and their daughter Brianna; Andrew Madding and wife Andrea and their sons Logan and River; and a daughter, Tasha Madding Betts and husband Kyle and their children, Faith, Grace and Lily.

Bill Madding is survived by his sisters, Judy Jones, Debbie Moore and Opal Henson, and will be missed by many loving M adding nieces, and nephews, and friends.

The Madding family will be forever grateful to his dear friends Freestone County Precinct 1 Constable Buck Bonner, Bill Dear, Loren and Bobbie Miller, Richard and Judy Wilson, Terry and Vanessa Kohler, Constable Morris Luker and many, many more.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Dewayne Madding, Michael Madding and Terry Madding, and a sister, Lea Wright.
