Betty Taylor Schroeder
Funeral services for Betty Taylor Schroeder were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 6 at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Roy Prather officiated and interment followed the service at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Tours. Visitation with the family present was from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, May 5 at Bowers Funeral Home. Mrs. Schroeder passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, surrounded by family at her residence in Teague. Betty was born and raised in Teague to Lester Taylor and Marie Emert Taylor. She married Donald Schroeder on June 9, 1973. She lived in Teague for almost all of her life. Betty worked as an LVN for over 30 years. She worked for Dr. Cox and Dr. Halbert in Teague for many years, worked at the Mexia State School and Titus County Hospital in Mt. Pleasant for about eight years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and crochet. She was a non-denominational Christian by faith. She is survived by her husband, Donald Schroeder of Teague; three daughters, Mary Schroeder and fiancé Kevin Garner of Teague, Megan Gustafson and husband Eric of Teague, Melissa Schroeder of Teague; four granddaughters, Kenley Wellman, Kailey Wellman, Brylin Gustafson, Raylin Gustafson; two sisters, Nancy Jones of Austin, Donna Gilliam of Teague; two brothers, Dickie Taylor and wife Suzzane of Fairfield, Randy Taylor of Corsicana; one sister-in-law Cathy Taylor; one brother-in-law James A. Gilliam, her niece Angela Gilliam, numerous nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Nickie Daniels. Schroeder was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marie Taylor; two brothers, Burton Taylor and Harvey D. Taylor; one sister Kim Taylor; her niece Misty Taylor.
