Aurora Vasquez

Funeral services for Aurora Vasquez, 92, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Brother Robert Mc-Dougal will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Donie Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mason Harris, Cole Harris, Marc McGuire, Darin McGuire, Henry Gonzales, and Richard Gonzales.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vasquez passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at the Fairview Nursing Home in Fairfield.

She was born in Malakoff on Sept. 7, 1932, but lived in Freestone County almost all of her life. Mrs. Vasquez worked in food service for Teague ISD for V asquez more than 25 years until her retirement. She loved making quilts and spending time with her family and friends.

Her family was her true treasure. Mrs. Vasquez was a devout Catholic all of her life, but in recent years she enjoyed attending First Baptist Church in Donie and considered them as family.

She is survived by one son, Vivian Vasquez Jr.; one daughter, Pilar Harris and husband Dennis; five grandchildren, Anthony Harris and wife Chelsea, Kurt Harris and wife Erin, Natasha McGuire and husband Clay, Brandi Pickett and husband Heath, and Lance Vasquez and wife Megan; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Vasquez was preceded in death by her husband, Vivian Vasquez Sr.; and one son, Mario Vasquez.
