Celinda Bloxom Allen

Graveside services for Celinda Bloxom Allen were held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 4 p.m. at Fairfield Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 2-3:15 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. A funeral procession left for Fairfield Cemetery immediately after visitation.

Mrs. Allen passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at her residence in Teague.

She was born in Teague on Sept. 19, 1949. Celinda graduated from Teague High School with the Class of 1968.

She married Kenneth Allen on Jan. 31, 1969, and shared more than 54 years together. Celinda enjoyed working with children and worked for several daycare and preschools in Teague including jobs with Mollie Scruggs, Doris Nell Johnson, and operating her own childcare at her home.

Mrs. Allen also worked for C&D Videos and the Freestone Credit Union in Teague and later for the Postal Credit Union in Fort Worth. Celinda enjoyed cooking and crocheting and was known for making orange and white wash rags for THS Seniors for many years.

Mrs. Allen was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church for more than 62 years, having been baptized on July 20, 1960.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Allen of Teague; three daughters, Monica Allison and fiancé Billy Martin of Teague, Melissa McLerran and husband Kurt of Fairfield, and Melinda Parson and husband Chris of Mexia; six grandchildren, Will Allison and wife Madison, Wayland Allison, Addyson Allen, Scott Parson, Dori Parson, and Lexi Parson; three great-grandchildren, Ellie Allison, Emilio Amador, and Bexley Parson; one brother, Jim Bloxom and wife Connie of Waxahachie; numerous nieces, cousins, and friends.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Bloxom.
