Lions fall to Maypearl
At a replacement match filling a slot left by a postponed game against Buffalo, Teague hosted the Maypearl Panthers Dec.15 and ultimately found themselves short of a win as they continued to struggle with a string of missed free throws and a somewhat sluggish defense.
The varsity boys basketball team emerged for the first quarter at a slow-but-steady pace. Some missed free throws cost them an advantage, but they still managed to score 8 points, matching the Panthers, ending the first quarter 8-8. The Lions hit a faster stride in the second quarter, adding a dozen points to the scoreboard ahead of Maypearl’s 10 points, going into the break with a 2 point advantage, 20-18.
