Lions take Westwood 76-58
The varsity Teague Lions basketball team began their district season last Friday with an 18-point win on their home court against the Westwood Panthers, utilizing superior rebound skill and what head coach Chris Hair called playing “great in transition on offense and defense.”
The Lions began the game handling Westwood’s full-court press with ease, adapting easily and holding the Panthers to 16 points against their own 24 tallied in the first quarter.
Teague continued to dominate the Panthers in the second quarter, completely out-rebounding them 13-9. The Lions scored an additional 22 points compared to Westwood’s 13 points, widening the gap decisively and sailing into halftime leading by 17 points, 46-29.
