MAURICE KILLINGSWORTH

Graveside services for Maurice Killingsworth took place Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Coolidge Cemetery. Jim Britt officiated.

Mr. Killingsworth passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield.

Maurice Killingsworth was born April 13, 1933 in Lost Prairie to parents Dessie Gibson and Claud Killingsworth.

He graduated from Groesbeck High School Class of 1952.

Maurice served our country for two years in the U. S. Army before being honorably discharged.

He married Brenda Strader in February of 1960 and they lived in Houston. They had one son, Keith, born May 22, 1961. Mr. Killingsworth moved his family to Round Rock in 1974, and he continued working for Houston Instruments until his retirement in 1994.

In 1998, he and Brenda moved to Teague to be closer to family where they built their home and currently reside.

His hobbies were gardening, going to garage sales, reselling and collecting old tools.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Killingsworth of Teague; his son, Keith Killingsworth of Teague; his sister, Imogene Johnson of Personville; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Killingsworth is preceded in death by his parents, Dessie and Claude Killingsworth; and nine siblings, Johnny, Melvin, Raymond, Tony, Alvis, Harold Dean, Chlodean, Glen, and Claude David.
