TX-17 contest to decide Flores replacement in House

Political contests of all levels will take place in the Tuesday general election, with the main state race with Freestone County focus being the contest for Texas’ 17th Congressional District.
The District is up for grabs with the impending retirement of Rep. Bill Flores, and the two candidates were decided during a July 14 runoff throughout the district.
On the Democratic side, Rick Kennedy collected 57.31 percent of the vote over David Anthony Jaramillo’s 42.69 percent.
