Lions receive district schedule update
Teague Lions faithful received news this past week that they would be getting Monday and Tuesday football this year, among other weekdays. The new schedule, designed by the District 8-3A executive committee on Monday morning, is arranged to allow additional make-up dates to finish the district schedule if needed.
“We went to a six day schedule as opposed to the traditional seven day schedule,” Teague Lions Head Football Coach Donnie Osborn said. “We are doing everything we can to prevent someone from having to forfeit a game at the end of the season. This new schedule gives us three available make-up dates.”
The Lions will travel to take on the Malakoff Tigers this Friday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m. for some Friday night light action, before having an open week next Thursday, Oct. 8.
