Parade celebrates Nursing Home Week
Residents lined the front of the Teague Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Monday afternoon for a parade celebrating Nursing Home Week.
There was music playing, candy being thrown and lots of waves, smiles and kisses blown throughout the parade. A few local businesses and families met in the Sonic parking lot to decorate their vehicles before driving around the nursing home three times for residents to enjoy.
“With visitation not allowed for the residents’ safety due to COVID-19 and since it was Nursing Home Week, I thought it would be a nice way for residents to see their family,” Teague Nursing and Rehabilitation Marketer Andrea Lopez said. “They really enjoyed it. I saw many waving and one was even blowing kisses. It felt amazing.”
