FRANK E. MORTON

Frank E. Morton of Fairfield passed away Sept. 15, 2019 in Providence Health Center in Waco with his loving family and devoted friends by his side.

Viewing was held Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Hill Church of God in Christ in Fairfield. Funeral services were held Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield with Rev. Clifford McIlveen and Supt. Anthony Taylor officiating. Interment was in the Shiloh Cemetery in Oakwood.

He was born Aug. 19, 1930 in Freestone County to Wilbur and Albertha Morton. He was their oldest child.

He grew up in the Butler Community and graduated from Butler High School.

He was a faithful member of Saint Hill Church of God in Christ, where he served as a deacon, on the finance committee, usher and wherever he was needed.

Morton married Alice Mae Vernon June 20, 1949.

He worked at Ivy Feed Mill for 30 plus years and rode horses and worked cows in his younger years. He also loved helping people and giving advice.

Morton was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Albertha Morton; his wife, Alice Mae Morton; a daughter, Sarah Morton; grandsons, Reggie Morton Jr., Guy Nolan McShan, Wayne Morton Jr; a sister, Audrey Bradford; two brothers, Victor Earl Morton and Billy Burns; and two great-grandchildren, Jai Alyce and Ashton Ty.

Those who will cherish his memories are his sons, Everett Morton, Wayne Morton and wife, Fannettie of Oakwood, Frank Morton Jr. and wife, Muriel of Fairfield; daughters, Ruby Gatson and husband, Tyree Jr., Cynthia Jarmon and husband, Billie Jr. and Alma McShan of Fairfield.

Brother, George Morton and wife, Jessie of Houston; sisters, Gwendolyn Ables and husband, Allen, Bonnie Grover and husband, Joe, all of Waco; sister-in-law, Mary; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews and special friends, William Coleman and Clara McIlveen and family.

Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe St. in Teague served the Morton family.
