Willie West serves 7 tours before coming home to serve students

When you see Willie West roaming the sidelines on Friday nights, know he’s not there to just relive his glory days as a quarterback for the Teague Lions.
He’s definitely grounded in reality.
After graduating Teague High School in 2000, West joined the U.S. Army. He served 15 years, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He is now back in Teague working as a paraprofessional, helping teach Lifeskills to students with intellectual disabilities.
