Silar heads to Wyoming for national rodeo

A little over a week ago Wes Silar was just another teenager enjoying an already diminishing summer.

He had come to grips with the fact that last month at the state rodeo in Abilene he had narrowly missed qualifying for the national high school rodeo in tide down calf-roping – by one place. The top four advance, and he took fifth.
