On Friday, March 17, shortly after 5 p.m., the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office conducted an arrest and initiated a search warrant west of Teague based on an aggravated assault with a firearm complaint and a felon in possession of a firearm.
Freestone County Commissioners Court took a step forward in getting a new ambulance for the Fairfield Ambulance Service. The commissioners made this decision at their regularly scheduled meeting on March 15, when they also accepted a grant to pay for the Emergency Notification Service, accepted a copy of the subdivision regulations to study it for needed changes and took no action to initiate a burn ban, which remains on the agenda year round.
The City of Teague board of aldermen met on Monday evening, March 13, in the their shortest meeting they have had over the past several months. Alderman Place 1 Garlan Steed and Alderman Place 5 Ryan Mathison were not present at the meeting.
