Freestone County Commissioners Court continued working on the upcoming budget during the Aug. 14 meeting, examining details of every department, and so far plan to keep the tax rate the same as the current rate. A final vote was to be taken at the Wednesday, Aug. 21, meeting.

After 28 years with Teague ISD, Accounts Payable Specialist Pat Cothran has retired. A retirement party was held for Cothran on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 7.
The Teague Lion Pride Booster Club, along with the help of Teague ISD and Coach Zachary Linscomb have completed a makeover for the Teague ISD Athletic facilities. The football, baseball, and softball fields have been completed. A new look for the gym will be coming soon.
