Young farmers to hold show

The Fairfield Young Farmers will be hosting their first annual lamb and goat show on Saturday, November 14, at the W.L. Moody Reunion Fairgrounds in Fairfield. Registration will take place the morning of the event.

Lambs and goats will be shown by their weight. There are two rings and buckles will be given in both rings. There will be many more prizes given out as well.

A concession stand will be open at the event and Kona Ice will be on hand as well.

“With all the shutdowns and restrictions due to COVID-19, we’ve had to go outside our norm for ideas on fundraising,” Fairfield Young Farmers President Michael Grissett said. “If anyone is interested in being a sponsor or donating other prizes, please contact us.”

For more information, contact Michael Grissett at 903-388-4088 or Dustin Coufal at 254-366-8100.

All of the money raised by the Fairfield Young Farmers is used to purchase animals at the Freestone County Fair and for scholarships for graduating seniors.

At this time, the Fairfield Young Farmers will not be selling burgers and fries at the Friday night football games due to the COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.
