West Point-minted quarter rekindles love of coins

 Unless you are a coin collector and enthusiast, you might not understand or even appreciate the thrill of finding a particular coin in your stash of change.

But this is not the case for this one longtime Teague resident and aficionado. He recently went to his bank to load up with quarters for whatever reason. He hadn’t collected coins in several years, he had maintained his reading interest about them over time.

As usual, he ran his fingers through his bag of coins – all quarters – and there he discovered a particular coin he had read extensively about and excitement inspired him almost to a run. It really did not matter whether or not it was worth more than 25 cents; he had found a coin that was minted last April in West Point, N.Y. And better still, it had found its way to Teague and now it was clutched in his hand.
