Water leaks continue to be repaired, City collects over $66,000 sales tax revenue

The Teague City Council heard reports from department heads during the regular meeting of the council Monday, May 20.

Teague City Administrator, Theresa Prasil, announced the city received 7.71 percent more in sales tax revenue in the amount of $66,552.40.

“We are currently working with the surrounding agencies and officials to help resolve and manage the depopulation of the Freestone County Jail,” Prasil said. “At a workshop, held on May 6, Sheriff Shipley informed us that his hopes are to have the jail operating as a booking and transporting facility by July 1.”
