Thanks to state grant money, Freestone County Sheriff’s deputies are now outfitted with body cameras. “Body worn cameras afford our office and our deputies transparency and accountability while making contact with the public,” said Sheriff Jeremy Shipley in a Facebook post. “We firmly believe that the use of these cameras will not only assist our deputies in gathering and receiving information, but also establish a video and audio record that can protect the public as well as our deputies.”
