TISD receives over $153,000 for Dual Credit Program from Texas Workforce Commission

Representatives from the Texas Workforce Commission presented a check for $153, 669 for the TISD Agricultural Dual Credit Program Thursday, June 6 in the Ag Shop at Teague High School.

Teague teacher, Cynthia Allen, found the grant and applied with the help of Ag teachers Amanda Smith and Doug Strange.

The grant was awarded earlier in the year and equipment was purchased with the funds.

The check was presented Thursday by representatives for Texas Workforce and this time gave them an opportunity to see what the grant purchased.

The Dual Credit program is in affiliation with Navarro College.

After students complete two years in the program as juniors and seniors, they will graduate with a certificate in welding and the knowledge and opportunity to be certified with the American Welding Society (AWS).
