TISD receives a B on state report card

(Editor’s Note: The Teague Chronicle expresses its appreciation to Teague Elementary Principal Crystal Adams for explaining in simple terms the content and results of this challenging state accountability report. She stepped in for Superintendent Chris Skinner at his request. He was out of town.)

Although teachers and administrators with the Teague Independent School District would have preferred an “A” on the district’s accountability report card from the state, most are pleased it is the recipient of an overall score of 88 which is a “B.” More than that, several mentioned they are particularly impressed with the increased amount in growth as compared to the last evaluation.

The district as a whole showed growth and academic improvements in many areas for the 2018-2019 school year, according to the detailed report which the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released last Thursday. It shows an increase of 10 percentage points from the 2017-2018 school year which is a substantial improvement.
