TISD hires interim superintendent
The Teague Independent School District Board of Directors has hired an interim superintendent until another one can be found to replace Dr. Nate Carman, who tendered his resignation last month.
Ray Matthews will be in the top position at TISD for about four months while the board searches for the right person to fill the opening. They hope to have a full-time superintendent hired by January 2018.
Matthews retired in 2010 from Marlin ISD where he had been superintendent for 4 ½ years. “This will be my fifth interim position since I retired,” Mathews said. “My first was only a few months after I retired. I love being an interim.”
