TISD awarding teachers $4,000 retention stipend

The Teague ISD Board of Trustees met Tuesday evening, June 22, for their monthly meeting. Trustees Brian Bowers and Debra Lawrence were not present.

Teague ISD received federal funds, including Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds, for the 2021-2024 school years.

The district approved annual stipends in effect for that time period. The stipends will expire at the end of the 2024 school year.

Included is a $4,000 classroom teacher-retention stipend.

Each teacher will receive a $500 per class period stipend for tested courses.

A math-intervention lead stipend and English Language Arts-Reading intervention-lead stipend are set at $5,000 each. An administrator tutoring stipend of $2,000 and a Lexia coordinator stipend of $4,000 are also included.
