THS honors 82 graduates

Just like everything else since March, graduation for the Teague High School Class of 2020 looked different.

The commencement exercises, held 8 p.m. May 29 at Lion Stadium, had several guidelines attached for both graduates and guests.

Each graduate received nine tickets for guests, and all guests had to sign a COVID-19 health screening form before entering the stadium. Guests sat with family and were six feet about from other families. Hand sanitizer stations were located all throughout the stadium. Graduates sat six feet apart from each other and picked-up their diploma off from a table instead of it being handed to them and receiving a handshake.

Macy Guerrero gave the invocation, followed by the national anthem by Jenna Swinburn. Cody Fowler, the senior class president, gave a welcome. Fowler told his fellow classmates to “expect the best and let the past go. God has an amazing plan for all of us”.
