THS graduates sign to play college baseball
Drew Satterwhite and David Matthews, both Teague High School Class of 2020 graduates, signed a letter of intent to play college baseball on Thursday, June 11, at the Teague High School library. Family, friends, and coaches were present for the signing.
Both boys have been playing baseball since little league when they could first start playing. Satterwhite will continue his career at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX and Matthews is heading to Concordia University in Austin, TX.
Satterwhite will play in an outfield position for the Pioneers and is currently a general studies major.
“I am looking forward to playing and having fun at the college level at Wayland Baptist University,” Satterwhite said. “A lot of athletes do not make it to play college ball so I am excited that I get to continue to play the sport that I love.”
Satterwhite earned 1st Team All-District, the Golden Glove Award, and was also named the Male Athlete of the Year for THS.
